Website Monetization Methods You Can Use Now

Starting a website these days doesn’t take much effort and isn’t even costly by any means. But when you actually do start one, it’s important to make sure that you’re earning money from it. There are a number of different monetization methods that you can use to make your website profitable but choosing the right one is important. Many factors must be taken into account regarding monetization including website design, traffic sources, and advertising methods. It just depends on what you prefer to use as well as what your audience responds to best; such as either banner ad placement or writing good preselling copy. If you are not quite sure about how to make the best choice, then you will benefit from becoming more familiar with them and under what conditions they perform best. A lot of marketers with experience have successfully used the following monetization methods with great success.

Keeping an eye on what has been going on, lately, one apparently proven method is to offer text link ads if your site receives some appreciable traffic. Like most monetizating methods, it adds to the mix of what you have and makes a contribution. These are attractive to many business owners because they can easily be added, or taken away, without interrupting other site elements, etc. If you sell them directly, you’ll have to do your own advertising, etc; on the other hand a company like, Text Link Ads, exists to take care of it for businesses who do not want to be bothered with it.

Another way to make money from your website is through RSS ads. As you probably know, RSS feeds are not new at all; so what IM marketers did was just put ads in them.

The quickest way, if you’re techno-challenged, is to simply check-out Feedburner, and you’ll see you can take advantage of their publishing network for advertising. Feedburne’s advertising uses the Cost Per Thousand (CPM) model, and you can join for free.

The next type of monetization method is all about audio, or Pay Per Play; when someone lands on your site, a very short audio ad plays, it’s only about 5 seconds in duration. It never hurts to be open about trying/testing new forms of advertising or monetization, and that’s the story with this one because it is new to IM. The monetizing strategies in this article are not your everyday methods, but they can be powerful if you use them and dedicate your self to testing them. But still, it always pays to do your own study and research before you actually opt for a method. You can try to assess whether or not some method will work, but if you’re not sure then just test on a few pages and see what happens. Experimenting is the key to success with any website’s monetization model because you’ll have to see what your target audience is accepting and what they’re actually comfortable with.
