Success With Viral Marketing
It’s almost impossible to predict if something will become viral, so it’s always an incredible surprise and extremely good when it happens. Everybody wants to create something that people talk about and share with their friends. Your business can instantly get a shot of traffic adrenaline from viral content. However, there’s a mysterious nature to if and no exact blueprint exists to produce it. Most people generally think of it as making some kind of content that just blows people away – gets their attention – and then you put it out there as much as you can. It’s not so terribly unusual to see strange, or unknown, products that can become viral. So how do you make it happen for you? Here are some things you can do to get your content to go viral.
Always tag your content when you syndicate it to anywhere. Blogs are not the only places where tags are used. Static website pages – you can place meta tags on all of them. The purpose of your tags is to help your information be put into the places, and that will help build a bridge between your content and the people searching for it. Tags are easy (and free) to use and can help raise you in the page ranks on search engines and directories. Your ranks can get better, and you’ll get more views, but your content will only become viral if it’s interesting enough, or causes controversy.
Make sure that people can easily share your work offline also. Don’t assume that just because you are on the internet when you are making sales and promoting your work that you have to limit your marketing only to the internet. When it is offline, content can still become viral and contagious. Make it easy for people to print, burn copies of and share your work with those who do not have regular internet access. This could get you plenty of new customers with this strategy.
Actively participate in online communities. Find and join forums that are relevant to your market, and do some blog commenting, as well. Become more active in the larger dialogue in your market. People will take notice of you if your contributions are significant and helpful. You’ll often be able to link back to your site on comment forms and in forum sig files. As long as your comments and contributions are relevant you will build your reputation, popularity and chance of having your work go viral.
You probably know this is not a precise science. No one ever knows what will be a hot topic and go viral. You can, however, take steps to ensure that your work is worth the attention you are trying to receive. But being lazy and only hoping won’t do a thing for you. Take a few easy steps to make your content and creations worthy of going viral. You could be the next huge news on the net.
